Journey to Following Jesus

I was born and raised in a very religious family. However, when I reached the legal age, I began to question Islam and its activities. I would sometimes have discussions with the Mullahs, but I was never convinced. The questions about Islam kept increasing in my mind every day, and I distanced myself from Islam.

In the year 2017, I met Brother Nabil in B**** City. At first, we had various discussions, but eventually our conversations turned towards religion and God. One day, Brother Nabil informed me of Jesus Christ and from that day forward, he would pray for me in the name of Christ. I had not yet embraced faith, until my mother fell ill. We tried different hospitals for her treatment, but she was not improving, and I felt hopeless about her recovery.

One night, in the vicinity of the Independence Hospital in Kabul, feeling distressed and completely lost, I was waiting as if I was waiting for a miracle. Brother Nabil called me, inquired about my mother’s condition, and I expressed my hopelessness. However, he comforted me and advised me to come to Christ and pray to Him, as He is the ultimate healer and the one who resurrects the dead. He encouraged me to believe in Christ’s mercy. After a few minutes of conversation, I hung up and went to a corner under a tree at the hospital, lifted my hands in prayer with a heart full of pain and a humble spirit. I prayed, following the example of Brother Nabil, that Jesus, the living God, would show me His love, heal my mother, provide a way for her treatment, so that I could also believe in Him, worship Him, and end my prayer in the name of Christ Jesus. Amen.

The very next night, I met a doctor inside the hospital, told him about my situation, he saw my mother and immediately referred her to his private clinic for surgery. Without delay, we transferred my mother to his clinic, she underwent successful surgery and was healed.

I am thankful to God that she is healthy to this day. After my mother recovered, I called Brother Nabil and bore witness to the miracle of Christ, telling him that I have fully believed in Christ, that He is Lord and that I believe in His sacrifice and the gift of salvation through His crucifixion for our sins. Brother Nabil also thanked the Lord.
